Horsemanship is not just about horses; it's a way of life. Here is what I would like to gain from my work with horses: To have the horse so willing, wanting, and understanding that the desired response would take no more effort than that to move a hummingbird. For the person to "see" the horse and for the two to have a mutual understanding. To break down some of the frustrations people have by helping them to learn the feel of their horse. For neither the horse nor the human to have stiffness or resistance toward the other. For suggestions to be heard and understood by both sides. To have the "try" brought out at every moment from each of the partners. I would like nothing more from my journey through horsemanship than to have the horse say, "Thank you, you are a good friend," and just maybe one day for God to say, "Not too bad. You have listened and tried."
